From 1 January 2027, applications for the renewal of residence permits in the categories listed below, which are covered by the digital residence permit renewal service, will be submitted exclusively online through the government portal gov.cy.
The service was launched in July 2026 and enables the online submission of applications for the renewal of residence permits with the same employer, for the following categories:
- Temporary residence permits for Remunerated Employment,
- Temporary residence permits for Domestic Employment,
- Temporary residence permits for employees of Companies of Foreign Interests,
- -Temporary residence permits for Family Reunification (for family members of Long-Term Residents and employees of Companies of Foreign Interests),
- Long-Term resident permits.
The full transition to online application submission forms part of the Government’s broader efforts to digitally transform and modernise the services provided.
Accordingly, as from 1 January 2027, renewal applications for the above permit categories will be submitted exclusively through the government portal gov.cy, while submission in person at the Department’s service points will cease.
